WESTBORO, Mass., July 5, 1990 -- Banyan Systems, the leader in
corporate-wide PC networking, today announced the promotions,
effective immediately, of Rodger E. Weismann to Executive Vice
President, Chief Operating Officer, and of Dr. James E. Allchin to
Senior Vice President.
"To achieve their full potential, fast growing companies like
Banyan must continually evolve their structure and build management

According to Mahoney, "Rodger has been with Banyan since 1986, and
Jim since the start. Both have held a number of key positions of
increasing authority and have been instrumental in making Banyan
a success. Their promotions, coupled with last week's appointment
of Jim D'Arezzo to Vice President, Marketing, strengthen Banyan's
senior management, and clearly delineate the areas of executive
responsibility so vital to Banyan's continued rapid growth."
As Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Weismann will
be responsible for all aspects of the execution of the operating
plans of the company. In this role, all functional areas will be
coordinated through one person available for prompt and consistent
action. In his theme to make it "Easy to do Business with Banyan",
Weismann intends to enhance programs focusing on quality and
customer satisfaction.
With Weismann as COO, Mahoney will have additional time to focus
on strategic matters, communicating the company message to industry
analysts, press, business partners, and customers throughout the
world. Weismann will report to Mahoney.
